Utegården lies in its original beautiful location on a peninsula in Tönnångersjön lake. The rest of the village lies in an open agricultural landscape, and the old village street leads to the farm. Utegården has been in the same family for eleven generations, and is mentioned in sources from the mid-17th century. A modern visitor encounters a farm with a typical late 19th century appearance. The farm is dominated by linked buildings, including a summer farmhouse and cowshed, surrounded by the main house and a number of older farm buildings. The garden that slopes towards the lake bears witness to the gardening passion of generations of women.
