Pallars is a stylish merchant´s house built in the 1880s, situated by the old dirt road to Falun. The farmhouse, shop and storeroom date back to the days when there was a village shop on the farm. The general style of the buildings is typical of the Voxna river valley, but they also have some unique carpentry. The name Pallars is a reminder of the huge farm that was at this location until the land division reforms. The village of Älvkarhed has been declared of national interest due to its large numbers of preservated buildings and its original agricultural environment.
