If you stop between central Järvsö and the village of Skästra and look down towards the river Ljusnan, you will see the hamlet of Norrvåga, with its row of big red farms. The backdrop to the farms is the lovely blue silhouette of Järvsö “klack” mountain. One of these farms is Tura, which can be traced back to the early 16th century. Most of the current farm buildings were built in the 19th century. There are two farmhouses, one of which is connected to the cowshed. Tura’s oldest interior can be seen in the Gammelbyggningen building, which is decorated with a typically carved Järvsö porch. The valuable cultural heritage of Norrvåga and its surrounding farmland is part of the central Järvsö district, which is an Area of National Interest.
